Entrepreneurship Minor

The Entrepreneurship minor prepares students to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions and launch successful ventures in today's dynamic business landscape.

This comprehensive program combines foundational business knowledge with hands-on experience in human-centered design, marketing strategy and the entrepreneurial process. Students learn to think creatively about market needs while developing practical skills in financial analysis, business development and strategic planning. The minor emphasizes both the analytical and creative aspects of entrepreneurship, from understanding consumer behavior and market dynamics to securing funding and managing growth. Whether students aspire to start their own companies, join innovative startups or bring entrepreneurial thinking to established organizations, this program provides the essential toolkit for identifying opportunities and turning ideas into viable business solutions in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven marketplace. 

Business Students

Required:

  • ACC 200 - Principles of Financial Accounting

  • MGT 370 - Human Centered Design

  • MGT 372 - Entrepreneurship

  • MKT 403 - Marketing Strategy in a Digital World

  • MGT 411 - Senior Design and MGT 412 - Senior Design II

*Students in MGT411/412 must choose the entrepreneurship track or BT 419

Choose 1 elective from the following courses:

  • ECON 244 - Microeconomics

  • FIN 321 - Corporate Finance

  • MGT 419 - Entrepreneurship Practicum

  • MGT 447 - Creativity and Innovation

  • MGT 472 - Assessment and Financing of Technical Business Opportunities or FIN 526 - Private Equity and Venture Capital

  • MGT 550 - Sports Business and Management

Non-Business Students

Required:
