Accounting Minor

The Accounting minor at Stevens provides students from any major with essential financial literacy and analytical skills that are increasingly valuable across all industries.

This program offers a solid foundation in accounting principles while introducing students to the data analysis techniques that modern businesses rely on for financial decision-making. Regardless of major program, the accounting minor enhances students’ ability to understand financial statements, analyze business performance and communicate effectively with finance teams, gaining practical knowledge that complements their primary area of study, making them more versatile professionals who can bridge the gap between technical expertise and financial acumen in today's data-driven business environment. 

Required:

  • ACC 200 - Principles of Financial Accounting

  • ACC 215 - Managerial Accounting

  • ACC 311 - Intermediate Accounting I

  • ACC 312 - Intermediate Accounting II

Choose at least 2 electives from the following:

  • ACC 351 - Federal Taxation of Individuals

  • ACC 421 - Audit and Assurance

  • ACC 431 - Advanced Accounting

  • FIN 510 / ACC 510 - Financial Statement Analysis

  • ACC 535 - Accounting Data Analytics and Information Systems

  • FIN 555 / ACC 555 - Retirement and Estate Planning
