Brand Management

A well-articulated and consistent brand provides a clear and consistent message, maximizes relevance and resonance and helps audiences understand Stevens’ value.

Our brand team has developed several tools, resources and services to help faculty and staff produce on-brand communications and extend and amplify the power and resonance of the Stevens brand. By being a Stevens brand ambassador, you can assist in fostering loyalty and trust and participate in building long-lasting brand equity.

Tools

Brand Central

As part of an ongoing effort to maintain Stevens’ brand cohesion and strengthen brand recognition and awareness, the Brand Central SharePoint Library has been established to provide access to the tools and assets faculty and staff need to carry the Stevens brand into the world. In this library you will find resources and assets such as:

  • Brand guidelines and the Stevens Editorial Style Guide

  • Logo and graphic elements for both print and digital applications

  • PowerPoint templates, the Institutional slide deck and a guide for best use

  • Digital stationery

  • Stevens typefaces

  • Zoom backgrounds

  • An event kit containing graphics for table throws and runners, branded banner stands, Avery name tags and more

Use of the Stevens logo assets is restricted to faculty, staff and licensed vendors for use in official university communications and merchandise. Limited exceptions must be approved by University Relations. Permissions have been set to allow faculty and staff to view and download these documents and assets; a Stevens login is required. For questions about brand assets email branding@stevens.edu.

A digital brand toolkit has been created for use by Stevens students. Familiarize yourself with the brand guide and permissible student use of Stevens assets, and download research poster templates, graphic elements, typefaces, zoom backgrounds, poster templates and more.

Brand Review

We offer a brand review service to ensure that new communications projects and products are brand compliant. Engaging with the brand team early on in your project will yield the best results. Email a PDF of your designs, including context about intended use and audiences, to branding@stevens.edu. Due to the high volume of requests, please allow up to five business days for review and response.

Canva

Canva is an online platform for the creation of simple graphic designs and visual communications. The Stevens Canva Team implementation enables real-time collaboration, shared designs and folders and centralized brand assets so that all participating units producing simple graphic communications can efficiently create graphic assets and maintain brand consistency without hiring external design services. Dozens of pre-made templates are available for use. The Stevens Canva for Teams implementation is only available to faculty and staff users who have been assigned seat licenses, for which costs are incurred by the unit. Users must be authorized by the unit's key contact. Email branding@stevens.edu for more information or to determine who your unit contact is.

Email Signature Generator

Standards for email signatures have been developed to further support and enhance brand consistency and recognition for the university. Faculty and staff emails sent from Stevens email accounts are considered official university communications and as such should reflect the Stevens Institute of Technology brand in this standardized format. For the ease of our users, an email signature generator has been developed with the support of our colleagues in the Division of Information Technology. We ask all faculty and staff to utilize this tool and update the email signatures on their Stevens email accounts accordingly.

Emma

Emma is an enterprise email delivery system that allows you to create, send and track HTML emails to internal and external audiences. The system is jointly managed by the Division of University Relations and the Division of Information Technology. Access to Emma is restricted and can only be granted with approval from your unit’s Emma contact. Email branding@stevens.edu to determine who your unit contact is. Already have an account? MediaValet

MediaValet is a repository of professionally shot Stevens photography that has been reviewed and approved for use in campus communications. Assets are categorized into subfolders by topic, or use the search function to find imagery that suits your need. Access or register for your free media valet account.

Ordering Branded Items

Any vendor or crafter creating apparel and merchandise bearing Stevens’ protected name and/or marks, whether for on-campus departments, student organizations, or for third-party vendors to sell online or in-store, must be approved as an official licensee. Stevens divisions, departments, schools and units must only use an approved current licensee to produce their apparel, merchandise, giveaways and promotional products.
