About University Relations

The Division of University Relations tells Stevens’ compelling stories, promotes its brand and engages with key constituencies in an integrated and powerful way. The division encompasses central communications and marketing, and government, community and corporate relations. UR strategically integrates the university’s internal- and external-facing communications and aligns their work with the priorities of the Office of the President. 

Our Role

The Division of University Relations establishes a direction and offers support to the university’s academic and administrative units in managing media, developing and executing marketing campaigns, fulfilling digital and print communication needs, engaging with government and corporate partners, fostering community outreach and organizing major events. 

From websites, social media and videography to stories, pitches, advertising and merchandise, we use a variety of tools and channels aimed at: 

  • Strengthening the academic reputation of Stevens 

  • Bolstering the visibility of faculty thought leaders and the impact of their research 

  • Promoting compelling content that engages prospective undergraduate and graduate students and their families, alumni and friends, corporate and government stakeholders and community members

Beth McGrath Beth McGrath
Vice President for University Relations and Chief of Staff

Beth McGrath, Vice President for University Relations and Chief of Staff, is a Stevens veteran with more than 30 years of leadership experience in university administration and within the academic enterprise. As Vice President for University Relations, Beth leads the university’s communications and marketing efforts; represents Stevens’ interests with local, state, and federal governments; serves as the liaison with community members and organizations; and is tasked with building a university corporate relations program. As Chief of Staff to the President, Beth manages operations and special initiatives for the Office of the President and serves as an advisor to the President.
