Graduate Women's Programs

The mission of the Graduate Women’s Program is to empower graduate women to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to attain their full potential at Stevens Institute of Technology and beyond, by facilitating open dialogue discussions and providing opportunities for reflection and self-examination. The Graduate Women’s Program for the 2018-2019 academic year provided several different opportunities for faculty, staff, and graduate women to gather, converse, and network. Signature events for the program are the monthly Lunch & Learns focused on a specific topic ranging from health to finances, presented by both internal and external parties. New additions to the program include student sponsorship to the SkillPath Conference for Women in NYC and book discussions featuring two prominent women - “Becoming” by Michelle Obama and “I thought it was just me” by Dr. Brene Brown.

Program participants have shared the following about their experiences with the program:

  • I love being in contact with other women, and if I can support them I will.

  • It was an opportunity to connect to graduate students outside my office.

  • I enjoyed seeing such a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty.

  • I love the enthusiasm at OGSA! Keep it up.
