Accounting & Analytics

Headshot of Program Director Ryan WynneRyan Wynne is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Accounting at Stevens Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Baruch College, an MBA from Baruch College, and a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University. His current research focuses on the impact of economic policy uncertainty on non-GAAP reporting. His prior research focused on capital distribution policy, investment management disclosure, and international tax policy. Ryan has taught at both the graduate and undergraduate level. His teaching experience includes financial and managerial accounting as well as managerial and business statistics. Prior to earning his Ph.D. at Baruch, Ryan was a banking and investments analyst for J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank. His work included portfolio re-balancing and securities analysis using financial statement disclosures.


Business Intelligence & Analytics

Headshot of BI&A Program Director Chris AsakiewiczChristopher Asakiewicz is an industry professor and the Director of the Stevens Alliance for Innovation and Leadership (S.A.I.L.). He is a senior management professional with a strategic background in business technology management, information technology, consulting and education, including 21 years as a Vice President of Global Business Technology at Pfizer. Chris has done pioneering work in the area of knowledge mining and its application within life sciences, most notably as a means of accelerating translational research. His research and teaching interests include cognitive systems, healthcare analytics, enterprise-level application, information and business process rationalization, as well as talent, skill, and capability development. He earned both his master’s in electrical engineering and Ph.D. in information management from Stevens.


Enterprise Project Management, Management, MBA and Analytics MBA

Headshot of Brian RothschildBrian Rothschild currently works as Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies as well as the Senior Director of Management Programs at Stevens Institute of Technology School of Business. He has been in higher education for over 30 years in both technology and business education. Brian has worked extensively in business process reengineering as well as running international and domestic conferences. Brian has a passion for helping students in every aspect of their life as they begin their careers or are using education to move up the corporate ladder faster.

Brian earned his doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, an MS in Educational Psychology from Fordham University and a MBA in Organizational Behavior and a BA in Economics from Iona University.


Finance and Financial Engineering

Headshot of Program Director Emmanuel Hatzakis Dr. Emmanuel Hatzakis director of the Finance and Financial Engineering programs, joined Stevens School of Business after a long career at Bank of America, UBS, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. His teaching curriculum focuses on wealth management, financial derivatives and fintech. He has a master's and Ph.D. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Financial Technology and Analytics

Headshot of Program Director Ionut FlorescuIonut is a research professor in financial engineering and the Director of the Hanlon Financial Systems Lab at Stevens. His research interest is concentrated primarily in the area of stochastic processes and applications to finance; however his work is about applying sound mathematical modeling techniques to any area of science and engineering. He has authored or co-authored four books and published 47 book chapters and journal articles. Ionut has worked at Stevens since 2005 since obtaining his Ph.D. in statistics from Purdue University. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s in stochastic processes (1997) from the University of Bucharest, Romania as well as a master’s in computational finance from Purdue University.


Information Systems

Headshot of Program Director Michael FrankMichael Frank has extensive industry experience, having worked with companies like the Port Authority of NY & NJ and Emigrant Bank. He was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by the graduating class of 2022. He earned his BA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the Harvard Business School at Harvard University. He teaches "Digital Innovation," "Service Innovation," "Integrating IS Technologies," among other courses.

The Stevens School of Business continued to showcase its excellence and leadership in business education with a six-year extension of its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), marking the school’s second consecutive reaccreditation since it was first granted in 2015.
