OneIT Technology Consultant Program

The Division of Information Technology hires students for a variety of positions across campus. Some positions require technical expertise but others don't have any specific knowledge prerequisites. Undergraduate, Graduate, and Federal Work Study students are all encouraged to apply for any Technology Consultant position. We offer training in technology and flexible hours available including week days, nights and weekends to accommodate students class schedules. 

The OneIT Technology Consultant Program allows Stevens students to represent IT by providing technology assistance across campus. As Technology Consultants, students may be dispatched to offices and classrooms to troubleshoot or fix problems with computers, printers, classroom technology, etc. Technology Consultants may also assist the IT team with various tasks related to training, operations, networking, systems and more.

The ideal candidate has: 

  • a combination of excellent interpersonal communication skills and technology knowledge

  • compassion and empathy when working with members of the community who are having technical difficulties

  • interest in technology

OneIT Technology Consultant positions are available in the following IT offices:

  • Client Support

  • Client Experience & Strategic Initiatives

Mentorship Opportunities

New Technology Consultants will be paired up with full-time IT team members, so that they may get hands-on experience and exposure to various professional development opportunities. Students will be able to ask questions, receive feedback and guidance on their work within the Division.

Awards & Recognition

The IT Team encourages hard work and dedication through teamwork and friendly competition. Technology Consultants will be able to compete with fellow team members to earn badges within our ticketing system, Freshservice, such as Most Valuable Player, Sharpshooter, or Speedracer. Individuals will receive shirts, pins, and other rewards for outstanding service. Throughout the year we offer promotion opportunities so that team members can get involved and play a bigger role in supporting the Stevens community.
