Sara Klein, Ph.D.
Dr. Sara Klein serves as Stevens’ inaugural Vice President for Student Affairs after nearly seven years in the role of Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. She is passionate about student learning and development and maintains an unwavering commitment to nurturing a safe, healthy, inclusive, and welcoming campus community. Dr. Klein is responsible for the planning, management, and operations of the Division of Student Affairs, as well as providing best-in-class student services and experiences. Prior to coming to Stevens, she served as Dean of Campus Life and Engagement and Title IX Coordinator at Wagner College. Dr. Klein has also held the positions of Associate Dean of Campus Life and Director of Residential Education at Wagner College. She has worked in Residential Education at New York University and as an analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Dr. Klein is an adjunct assistant professor at New York University in the Higher Education and Student Affairs graduate program. She has also taught in Wagner College’s Executive MBA program, has instructed webinars for the American College Personnel Association and ResLife.net, as well as presented throughout the country at professional conferences, seminars, and workshops. Dr. Klein has published articles in the Journal of the First Year Experience and Students in Transition, the Journal of College and University Housing, and authored a chapter in Linking Theories to Practice: Case Studies for Working with College Students (4th Edition).Dr. Klein earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education at New York University, where she also received a Master of Arts in the same subject. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Music.
