Research
Using bioinformatics tools we study annamox bacteria performance in waste water. With 16S RNA sequencing we analyze the bacterial changes in waste water, finding abundance and classification for each species.
With sequencing data (from the Center for Environmental Systems), we make use of the open source tools such as Qiime2, to look for patterns in the samples of waste water microbiome, examining diversity.
We make use of programming languages and sequence analysis tools to help us study the types of bacteria, abundance, differential expression of genes, look for any new gene, and visualize our reads. These methods of visualization include phylogenic diversity trees, reports, and classification of each bacterial genus, and species based on varying environments.
