General Information
Dr. Ann Mooney Murphy is a Professor of Strategic Management in the School of Business. Her research centers on strategic leadership and corporate governance and has appeared in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, the Strategic Management Journal, and The Journal of Management. She teaches courses in strategy, management, and consulting.
Dr. Murphy has held a variety of academic leadership positions. She is currently the co-lead of the Management and Marketing Area, the coordinator for the senior design experience, and a member of the university's Faculty Senate. She served as Associate Dean 2010-19, and in that capacity, oversaw the undergraduate programs and served on the Dean's committee. She helped transform the School from a School of Technology Management to a School of Business and led the launch of 6 new undergraduate majors and 7 new minors.
Dr. Murphy received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management and M.B.A. from The University of Georgia, and her B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University. She is a former CPA licensed in the state of New York.

Consulting Service
Dr. Murphy serves as an independent strategy consultant. Her work is focused on facilitating strategic planning retreats and meetings and working with boards and leadership teams to help them develop effective strategic plans.
Prior to academia, she worked for large firms (PwC; Arthur Andersen), both in strategy and as an auditor (accounting).
