Abstract
The healthcare industry is facing an urgent workforce crisis, with a predicted shortfall of up to 124,000 physicians in the coming decade. In addition to workforce shortages, the persistence of medical errors is further straining the healthcare system. Dr. Aalpen Patel will address how the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is critical to overcoming these challenges by improving physician efficiency, enhancing medical imaging, and supporting population health management.

Dr. Aalpen Patel '89 is a leading physician, engineer, and educator, with expertise in merging technology with healthcare. A Stevens Institute of Technology alumnus with a degree in electrical engineering, Dr. Patel transitioned into medicine and earned his MD from Rutgers University. With advanced training from renowned institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center, he is board-certified in diagnostic radiology, vascular and interventional radiology, and clinical informatics. Dr. Patel is widely recognized for his innovative work in the application of 3D printing and AI in medicine, and he is a sought-after speaker at both national and international platforms.
