Alpha Phi Omega
Alpha Phi Omega (APO) is the National coed Service Fraternity founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. They strive to uphold our cardinal principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service by hosting events in each of these programs. Some examples include: serving at the Hoboken Homeless Shelter, Midterms and Finals Breakfasts, servant leadership workshops, karaoke, and game nights. They have an open recruitment policy, and the organization recruits during the first few weeks of every semester! Email apotarecruitment@gmail.com if you're interested in joining and apotaservice@gmail.com for service-related inquiries!
Colleges Against Cancer
Colleges Against Cancer shares hope by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. Colleges Against Cancer uses tools and our creativity to initiate and support programs that will one day lead us to a cancer cure and a world with more birthdays. They host campus wide event where Stevens students raise money to go towards cancer research as well as celebrating life and doing service for those who have suffered from cancer or are suffering from cancer. They also hold advocacy events which allow students to be aware of how they can take preventative measures to catch cancer early, and prevent it.
Engineers Without Borders
Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit national humanitarian organization focused on the development of sustainable, renewable, and environmentally friendly projects around the world. The organization addresses people’s basic human needs by providing necessities such as clean water, sanitation and education.
Habitat for Humanity
The Stevens Habitat for Humanity looks to serve the surrounding communities by volunteering its time and talents to help build homes for families in need. What will you be doing? The club participates in a number of builds throughout the semester where students have the opportunity to assist in framing, installing drywall, painting and much more! Highlight event: The week long spring break trip! The Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Collegiate Challenge offers students the opportunity to travel to a different location and put their faith into action, to build partnerships with students from other universities as they work together on projects. What will you gain? The club allows students to gain greater awareness of the need for decent and affordable housing, as well as to deepen their commitment to social action. Come out and volunteer! Every one needs a place to call home!
StevensTHON
StevensTHON is a philanthropic organization that is committed to enhancing the lives of children and families at Children’s Specialized Hospital, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Our goal is to ensure that all children, no matter their financial status, have access to the life-changing care they deserve. CSH is the nation's leading provider of pediatric rehabilitation medicine. They care for children with anything from autism to cerebral palsy. During the Spring semester, we celebrate our year-long fundraising and awareness efforts with our annual 12-hour Dance Marathon. Everything we do and everything our organization stands for is because Kids Can't Wait!
Fraternities & Sororities
Service and philanthropy play a large role in Stevens' fraternity and sorority life (FSL). All chapters fundraise throughout the year for a cause, such as Special Olympics, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to name a few. Additionally, FSL members integrate themselves into the Hoboken community by supporting local projects. Our Greeks volunteer countless hours to the Hoboken Shelter, Community Foodbank of New Jersey, and Liberty Humane Society, among others, in an effort to make their city a great place for all its residents.
