Achievements and Noteworthy Accomplishments
Pi Tau Sigma congratulates the achievements of members who are part of the Class of 2025. The following chapter members of the graduating class were recognized for their academic excellence.
Rai Singh Bindra, Andrew Cheney and Brandon Rogers are among the co-Valedictorians with a perfect 4.0 average and were the co-recipients of the Lawrence C. F. Horle Memorial Award presented to the seniors who attained the highest-grade point average during their entire undergraduate program at Stevens.
Rai Singh Bindra, Andrew Cheney and Brandon Rogers were also the co-recipients of the Eugene Fezandie Award for best overall performance by a graduating senior in Mechanical Engineering in the sequence of junior and senior year Mechanical Engineering courses.
Michael Price received the Kenneth J. Moser Award in recognition of their outstanding performance in heat transfer.
Emily Klaben and Thomas Wohlbruck were the co-recipients of the Arthur J. Grymes, Jr. Award for demonstrating the greatest interest or proficiency in fluid dynamics.
James Kelly and Emily Klaben received the Andrew Carnegie Machine Systems Award for being an outstanding student of Machine Systems and Design.
Ava Wang and Thomas Wohlbruck were the co-recipients of the Richard S. Magee Excellence Award for demonstrating both extracurricular involvement and leadership in departmental and campus activities.
Konnor Getz was the recipient of the Fernando Sisto Award for his outstanding performance in Turbomachinery and Aerospace.
Timothy Griffin received Colonel John Stevens Power and Energy Systems Award for his outstanding performance in Power and Energy Systems.
Brandon Rogers and Hunter Schmidt are among the co-recipients of the Elie Fonrose Award for their promise of advancement in the field of aerospace engineering.
Konnor Getz and Celia Mauri were members of the capstone project team that received the award for the best Mechanical Engineering Capstone Design Project— Hypersonic Boundary Layer Pitot Rake.
James Johnson is the recipient of the Robert H. Thurston Leadership Award, which is presented to an ASME Student Chapter officer who has demonstrated high leadership skills.
Jenna Giesecke was a co-recipient of the Co-Op Ambassador Award for volunteering a significant amount of time supporting the Stevens Co-Op Program.
Cole Spitzner was the recipient of the Personal Impact Award for having engaged effectively with others, fostered positive and lasting change in the Stevens community.
Jenna Giesecke was also a co-recipient of the Stevens Mental Health Award for her lasting impact on the mental health of their fellow students.
Brandon Rogers also received the Outstanding Service Award for excellence in service to the community and demonstrated professional promise and leadership in the Master of Engineering Program in mechanical engineering.
Rai Singh Bindra, Brandon Rogers, Hunter Schmidt, and Colt Spitzner were recognized for completing their bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
John Caufield received recognition for serving in the U. S. Armed Forces (Marine Corps) while completing his undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering.
The following members of the Stevens Pi Tau Sigma chapter graduating class of 2025were also members of the New Jersey Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society: Dhavan Antala, Suraj Bose, Andrew Cheney, Tyler Chipetine, Richard Doan, Konnor Getz, Jenna Giesecke, James Kelly, Stephen Keyes, Aidan Kinney, Michael Lafranco, Nicholas Lao, Christopher Magsino, Douglas McDonough, Paul Mirabile, Ryan Musantry, Matthew Niermann, Cole Spitzner and Ava Wang.
At the state level, Andrew Cheney and Brandon Rogers were selected from Stevens to receive the NASA New Jersey Space Grant Fellowship for their outstanding academic record. As part of this state-wide award, they each participated in a research project of aerospace relevance and presented a research paper and poster at the state-wide NASA New Jersey Space Grant meeting (at Rutgers University, Camden, NJ).
Special Events
The Innovation and Design Expo, which included the capstone design display by the graduating class was held on May 9, 2025.
The chapter again successfully organized and implemented an academic tutoring program for the mechanical engineering undergraduate students during the fall and spring terms. The event covered all core engineering topics for the sophomore and junior class with a special review during the final exam period.
The Stevens Phi Omicron chapter again assisted the Mechanical Engineering Department with the virtual open house for accepted students. In addition to volunteering their time for the various virtual laboratory tours and for interactions with the students and parents several senior capstone design projects.
Announcements
Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement ceremonies for the classes of 2025 were held at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on Wednesday, May 20, 2025. Congratulations to the graduates of 2025!
