Degrees are conferred at the end of the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Fall Graduation

  • Undergraduate Degree: August 1 

  • Graduate Degree: September 15 

  • Graduate Certificate: September 15 

Spring Graduation

  • Undergraduate Degree: October 1 (for spring 2022, extended due date December 3)

  • Graduate Degree: February 15

  • Graduate Certificate: February 15

Summer Graduation

  • Undergraduate Degree: June 1

  • Graduate Degree: June 15

  • Graduate Certificate: June 15

Only applications received by the deadline above will be considered for graduation.

Graduation Requirements

Graduation Requirements

  • Program of study GPA must be 2.0 or higher for undergraduates and 3.0 or higher for graduate students.

  • All academic requirements as indicated in your academic progress tab in Workday are listed as satisfied.

  • Transfer coursework must be completed and the final transcript must be submitted to registrar@stevens.edu by the date of conferral.

Commencement Ceremonies

Each year, Stevens hosts one set of commencement ceremonies in May to confer degrees for summer, fall and pring graduates. For more information visit the Commencement Website.

Diplomas

Timeline for Receiving Diploma/Certificates

  • Diplomas are ordered 2-3 weeks after the term conferral/award date. Graduates will be notified by the Office of the Registrar when the order is placed.

  • Electronic Diplomas are sent to students via email when diplomas are ordered.

  • Paper diplomas are shipped directly to graduate’s home address in Workday 3-4 weeks of receiving the Electronic Diploma.

  • An outstanding balance will result in diploma/certificates being held. Graduates who resolve their balance after the conferral/award date should notify the Office of the Registrar to have their documents released.

Diploma Replacement

  • Replacement diplomas should be requested directly through our vendor, Parchment.

  • Students will receive both a digital and physical copy from their request. The timeline to receive a replacement diploma is 1 week for the digital copy and 3-4 weeks for the physical copy.

International Students (OPT)

OPT Notification: Your Program Completion status cannot be evaluated and/or cleared until the end of drop add period, as published on the Academic Calendar. Clearing your graduation status can take an additional two to three weeks after this date. There cannot be any exceptions to this rule. 

If you need documentation of your graduation for your family to apply for a visa to attend the ceremony, please use this template for the letter. Requests for invitations should be directed to the Office of Student Life.
