StevensOnline Graduate Programs Rank Best in New Jersey, Among Top 10 Nationally

Stevens Institute of Technology continues to be recognized as a leader in online education.

Placing nationally in online graduate education categories in the School of Business and the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science (SES), Stevens claims a No. 1 program in New Jersey and ranks top 10 in the nation in the U.S. News & World Report 2023 Best Online Programs rankings, which were released today.

The rankings are:

  • No. 27 overall in Best Online Master’s in Business Programs (non-MBA)

    • No. 7 in private schools nationwide

    • No. 2 in New Jersey

  • No. 8 overall in Best Online Master’s in Computer Information Technology Programs

    • No. 1 in New Jersey

    • No. 2 in the Northeast

The value of a Stevens graduate degree is backed by the numbers: 96.5% of 2022 graduates — traditional and online combined — secured employment within six months of graduation with an average salary of $89,956 and average sign-on bonus of $10,326.

“It is extremely gratifying that Stevens continues to earn national recognition for its innovative online offerings," said Dr. Constantin Chassapis, Senior Vice Provost for Graduate Education. "Stevens is committed to providing our online graduate students with flexible and robust programs so they can advance their careers and become leaders in high-impact fields."

These rankings are the latest in a string of achievements spanning an 11-year period of growth marked by a consistent upward trend of enrollment, student profile, academic distinction, campus expansion and research funding.

“As the importance of online education grows, Stevens remains dedicated to providing our students with a rich, technology-infused learning experience," said Dr. Jianmin Qu, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. "These sustained acknowledgments are a testament to the excellence of our graduate programs and the value of our innovative online learning technologies.”

For the rankings this year, U.S. News assessed more than 1,850 online programs — the most online degrees in its history. While the methodologies are different for each discipline, they all incorporate metrics specific to online learning. The rankings are limited to degree-granting programs that are offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions. The complete list of rankings and methodologies can be found here.
