Paying It Forward Through Scholarship Support
Ann Fandozzi ’93 has served as chief executive officer of four companies and in executive positions with Fortune 100 firms. Grateful for her Stevens education and academic scholarship, she created a scholarship to support a Stevens student following in her path.
“I can truly say that my four years at Stevens were among the most special of my life,” Fandozzi said. “The academic curriculum taught me critical thinking and prepared me with skills for the job market. The friendships I formed have lasted to this day. I want my gift to do for someone else what donor support did for me – enable them to choose Stevens, have a wonderful four years and launch an impactful career.”
Fandozzi is the chief executive officer of Convergint, a global systems integrator. She previously served as CEO of Ritchie Bros., ABRA Auto Body and Glass and vRide, as well as in executive positions for Whirlpool, DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company and Lockheed Martin. She earned a B.S. in computer engineering at Stevens and later went on to the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a master’s degree in systems engineering and an MBA from The Wharton School.
She remains grateful to Stevens for providing valuable training for her career and gives back to the university in many ways. She serves on the President's Leadership Council and in 2022, she delivered the Thomas H. Scholl Lecture by Visiting Entrepreneurs at Innovation Expo. Her gift in support of the Evenson Fandozzi ’93 Scholarship contributes a full tuition scholarship for a Stevens student for four years.
Fandozzi’s inspiration for creating the scholarship is rooted in her own experience. “Part of my decision to attend Stevens had to do with the academic scholarship that I was fortunate to receive,” she said. “I wanted to give the same opportunity to another student. Stevens is a fantastic institution, and I wanted to help in some way.”
Viktoria Matysiak, Class of 2027, a chemical engineering/information systems major, is the recipient of the Evenson Fandozzi ’93 Term Scholarship. Viktoria is a scholar in the Pinnacle Scholars Program, which provides high-achieving undergraduate students with opportunities for individualized mentoring, advanced research projects, special honors and research seminars and the option to pursue an accelerated master’s program. The scholarship support was a determining factor in Viktoria’s decision to attend Stevens.
“I toured the school and really loved what I saw,” she said. “Everything in culmination – the academics, location and my place in the Pinnacle Scholars Program – made me very excited to go to Stevens. The final push for me to choose Stevens was the generous scholarship money that I received since I knew that it would not be financially possible for me to attend without it.”
Viktoria is involved in the women's club soccer team and the jazz band, and she is excited about the many opportunities offered at Stevens.
“I am incredibly grateful for the generosity,” she said. “I believe attending Stevens will be life-changing.”
