Registration Instructions for Stevens Students
Note: The IUEDC enables doctoral students to take graduate-level courses at member institutions outside of their home institution. It is not to be used for dissertation research or faculty consultation at member institutions. Only courses without an equivalent at Stevens will be approved. Registration must be completed before the add/drop deadline for the term. Students who have identified a course at a member institution that they would like to take should complete the following steps to register:
Complete application: Complete the IUEDC Registration Form
Fill out all areas of the form clearly and legibly for accurate registration and grade reporting.
Be sure that you have provided your full address, including zip code, as well as a phone number and email address at which the host school can reach you in addition to all course information.
Sign the bottom of the form
Obtain signatures: Obtain signatures in the following order only (signatures will not be given out of order):
Stevens Department Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, or Faculty Adviser
Stevens IUEDC Coordinator (Jessica Rosa - jrosa@stevens.edu)
The Stevens IUEDC Coordinator will then contact the Host School IUEDC and initiate the steps that will produce the following two signatures:Host School IUEDC Coordinator
Host School Course Instructor
Register at host school: Please refer to the host school IUEDC website for registration procedures. This may include proof of immunization. Provide a copy of the registration form to the IUEDC Coordinator at the host school after you have collected the other three signatures.
Enroll in a special topics course in your home department: This is used as a placeholder for the course you are taking at the host school. Your final grade will be indicated via this course, and the tuition for it is still paid to Stevens.
Return the completed registration form: Completed forms should be returned to Jessica Rosa, Director of Graduate Studies at jrosa@stevens.edu.
Dropping a Course
If you need to drop your IUEDC course, please be sure to do so by the host school's drop/add deadline by contacting the host school's IUEDC Coordinator. Please also inform the Stevens IUEDC Coordinator that you've dropped the course.
Grades and Transcripts
Member schools send each other final grades approximately three weeks after the end of each semester. Once a grade has been posted at the host school, contact the host school IUEDC Coordinator and request that a transcript be sent to the Stevens IUEDC Coordinator. The host school IUEDC Coordinator will then have a new transcript sent to Stevens at no cost to you. Host school rules on course completion apply, so if you do take an incomplete, be sure you are familiar with those rules if you do not intend to complete the course right away.
How to Apply
Stevens is processing IUEDC forms via email, which can be sent to Jessica Rosa, Director of Graduate Studies. Qualifying students must fill out the writable PDF IUEDC form linked below AND indicate their official home institution email address. A handwritten form or non-school email address will NOT be accepted. Only courses offered and conducted during either the fall or spring term may be applied for, and each institution may give preference to its own students when enrollment is limited. Please note that tuition and fees are paid to the home institution, but students will be responsible to their host institutions for any lab fees if applicable.
