Jian H. Mai.

Transforming Healthcare through AI/ML

Presented by: Jian H. Mai

I graduated from Stevens in December 2022 with an MS in Data Science. My professional experience includes working as a Data Analyst and an AI/ML Engineer. As a data analyst, I queried data from our AWS Redshift databases, cleaned data with Python and Pandas, and created dashboards in Tableau and PowerBI. Currently, at Evernorth, I leverage the latest NLP (Natural Language Processing) techniques and LLMs (Large Language Models) through fine-tuning and RAG (retrieval augmented generation) to transform our business.

Name of Company: Evernorth Health Services

The period of time working in this company: 2 years

About Jian's role: I currently work at Evernorth as an AI/ML Engineer. I work with the latest LLMs and NLP techniques including GPT-4o and RoBERTa to help transform our call centers and finance departments. Additionally, I support DevOps/AIOps in creating the infrastructure and deploying these models for our end users. To stay up to date with the latest trends in NLP and LLMs, I spend most of my days reading research papers and self-studying.
